Umbraco support and maintenance

When something goes wrong with your Umbraco website, you need Umbraco support that actually works for your business, not just a standard contract.

I don't run an Umbraco support desk. I help you pick the right support, make sure it fits your business, and hold your provider to account.

My focus is making sure your contract matches your risk and that what's promised gets delivered.

Case studies

Over the years, I have directed over 250 Umbraco platforms as the MD of Growcreate for UK and European clients.

Umbraco website for FE fundinfo, backed by SLA support and maintenance

Technical debt had stalled FE fundinfo's progress, and template and CMS issues undermined content consistency for large editorial teams. Growcreate rebuilt the solution on Umbraco 13, delivering a clean, easy-to-use digital experience. Then they handed the site over to their ISO 27001-certified 24/7 support team for round-the-clock incident response, patching and monitoring, uptime up to 99.95% and critical-issue acknowledgement within 15 minutes. Keeping the site stable, secure and continuously improving.

Umbraco platform recovery and modernisation for a global professional services consultancy

Growcreate stabilised and modernised a global professional services and programme management consultancy's legacy Umbraco implementation. Refactoring components incrementally while the live site kept publishing. The result was predictable, low-risk change and faster delivery of enhancements. A strong example of ongoing support and modernisation that avoided the cost and disruption of a full rebuild.

Get the questions to ask before you sign an Umbraco support contract — ownership, SLAs, response times, all in one free PDF.

What I scope before you sign anything

I work with your agency to scope your requirements before you sign anything. The contract is built around your risk, revenue and reputation.

Picking the right Umbraco support tier

Most businesses get steered into a support tier on the sales call. I align the tier to your real risk. A marketing site and a payment platform need different support. I negotiate from there.

Runbook design

I write the runbook, so support engineers know exactly what to do when something breaks. Whether you're on Umbraco 13 or 18, the runbook is specific to your site. You won't get this detail from a pricing page.

Reading the reports so you don't have to

Support contracts come with monthly reports, dashboards and incident logs. I check these against what was agreed.

Vendor accountability

I hold your Umbraco support provider to the runbook. If the reporting doesn't match what was agreed, I take it up with them. I'm independent, so I can be direct.

If you buy support without a runbook, you don't have an SLA. My approach makes sure the contract matches your risk before you sign and that it's met afterwards.

Advisory and Umbraco services

I direct your platform lifecycle end-to-end.

Umbraco upgrades and migrations

If you are stuck on an old CMS, I manage migrations to Umbraco 18 and .NET 10 to deliver better performance and a modern, flexible setup.

Umbraco platform leadership

I act as your embedded Head of Digital. Not selling developer hours, but aligning marketing, systems and sales so your Umbraco project achieves commercial results.

If you are considering an Umbraco support agency, my advisory approach makes sure your software delivers value.

What you'll learn:

  • Find out who actually owns your licence, hosting and source code before you sign.

  • Get Core Web Vitals and rollback commitments written into the contract, not just promised on a call.

  • Cut through vague "maintenance retainer" language — hours, response times, exclusions.

  • Pin down guaranteed response times for a site-down issue vs a minor bug.

  • Bonus: the full 90-day health check to keep your agency honest after you've signed.
