I set up Midday to offer practical, grounded support for people whose digital responsibilities have grown and become harder to manage.
Umbraco Platinum Partner badge
You’ve seen the badge on agency sites. Agencies have to invest to get it, but the badge alone doesn’t tell you what you’ll get as a client.
The badge shows the agency has invested in Umbraco. It doesn’t show you who will be on your project or what their experience is.
Two agencies can have the same badge and deliver very different results. Platinum status means there's at least one Umbraco Certified Master or two Certified Experts on the team, and those certifications have to be kept up to date. The badge doesn't tell you how many people beyond the minimum are certified, or how big the team behind your project is.
If you don't know who’s behind the badge, you can’t see what you're actually buying. Always speak directly with your chosen team:-)
So before you take the badge at face value, ask what's behind it.
Ask whether the team currently has an active Umbraco Certified Master (E.g., Growcreate has four Umbraco Masters) or two Certified Experts, not just when the badge was awarded.
Find out who your technical lead will be.
Check how many enterprise-scale builds that team has delivered, not just the agency's total.
Ask what support and upgrades look like after launch, when the project is live, and things are quieter.
See what else backs up the Umbraco badge, such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, or a security approach you can review.
A good agency will answer these questions straight away, with real names and numbers.
A Platinum Partner who can answer all five questions without hesitation is the one the badge is meant to highlight.
If you're shortlisting agencies and want a second opinion on what's behind the badge, we can help before you decide. This is the same approach we use in our Umbraco audits, and it fits with our advice on whether to upgrade or rebuild if you're weighing both options.
I hope this helps.
